| Cheat Codes: ------------ Submitted by: conner54 Easy experience: ---------------- Equip one character with Auto-Haste, Initiative, and Junction 100 Pain spells to their attack. They will go first, and blind/poison/silence the target monster (this works well against Behemoths). Have another character cast Zombie on the helpless monster, and have the third character use the Revive ability on the Zombied monster. Behemoths cannot see to counter attack, and Silence keeps them from using their high-level magic. In all Final Fantasy games, undead monsters are injured by curative magic, and killed by Life spells, Phoenix Downs, etc. Use this technique when fighting the Behemoths in the Deep Sea Research Center on the south-western-most corner of the world map to accumulate experience and build your characters. Note: This only works on monsters that are susceptible to Death magic. Bosses are immune to this trick, as are Ruby Dragons and Imps. Those opponents must be killed by traditional means; however the Diablos summon kills most Imps in one hit. HexCheat: --------- Submitted by: Duong Quoc Toan Capheden141 By using hex cheat,you can get 99 items of rank A or any rank you want each time you transfer Chocobo to your game. First, open hexeditor,open a chocobo's save files in where you setup your FF VIII (example: C:\SquareSoft INC\FFVIII\), then in the first line, you will see the number of Item you can have at rank A, B, C D and also your hitpoints, current levels, etc... Change them to 99 and each time you transfer data, you will get any item you want.I dont remember exactly the address where HP, number Items and Level store, but i'm sure it extremly easy. You can find it by yourself Defeating T-Rexaur: ------------------- Submitted by: d.shankarnarayana E-mail:shankar_annauniv@yahoo.com When you travel past the balamb garden, you will encounter T-Rexaur, the dinosaur that is extremely strong in that garden. It's hit points is about 11,000 whereas Squall's is just around 600-700. So this is very difficult to destroy him you may escape but your stats may go down. The T-Rexaur hits with its tail and bites his enemies that causes a considerable amount of damage say about 200-300 hit points. In order to defeat this bad one, just use the blind spell on him so that he becomes totally blind and again cast the sleep spell that makes him doze. Now summon the GF (Guardian Force) Leviathan that causes water damage and other GF which causes Ice damage (I forgot the name of the GF but you may know). This will kill him easily and you will get M-Stone Piece that contains high magical power. If more doubts persists, Mail me. Gametip: -------- Submitted by: James Kelling For unlimited free random items open and play Chocobo World after you've got your Chicobo and accumilate a few items (I sugest you get a few of each as it makes it easier). Then with Chocobo World (its best to go into the menu otherwise you may encounter problems if you accidently go into battle) still running open FFVIII and bring your Chicobo 'HOME' and you'll recieve some random items, then send you Chicobo to 'WORLD'. Press Alt-TAB to switch to Chocobo World and press Ctrl twice to go out and back into of the menu and you'll see you still have the items, so go back to FFVIII and just repeat the process as many times as you like as long as you don't bring you Chicobo 'HOME' without Chocobo World running. Obtain 75,000 gil and by 100 Tents from any shop. Refine them into 25 Mega-Potions, which can be sold for 7,500 gil each. This results in a profit of 105,000 gil. Build a high speed level, the Rare item ability, hit at 255%, and a high strength stat. Go to Cactuar Island and fight Cactuars. You will usually acquire an item called Jet Engine, which can be sold for 150000 gil. Ending scene: ------------- Allow the credits to complete after the final FMV sequence to see Squall and Rinoa. Quick movement in Balamb Garden: -------------------------------- When first at Balamb Garden, after you give the tour to Selphie, approach the the directory and press Action. When the directory screen appears, move the pointer to where to wish to go and press Action. You will appear in the hallway in front of that location. Note: This only works at the beginning of the game. GameTip: -------- DO NOT GO ON TO THE TRAIN IN THE TOWN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE GOOD FIGHTING TOOLS Hints ----- Draw, draw, draw. Always take the opportunity to siphon some of your enemy's power with at least one of your party members during a battle. You never know when your opponent is going to have something vital or cool. When you get a new party member, remember to junction a GF to him or her and try to give the new member some abilities that will help you out in fights. For example, it helps if at least one person in your party can use the Item skill in combat. When you're fighting the big monster boss at the top of the communication tower, don't forget to draw on him. He has Siren, an important GF, and if you don't draw it from him in that fight, you won't find it elsewhere in the game. Dancing soldiers on control panel: ---------------------------------- You can toy around a bit with the Missile Control Panel. Choose to go to the equipment inspection screen to see the equipment used by the Galbadian Army. Hold Triangle + Square and press Up or Down. The scene will switch to either a dancing Galbadian Soldier or Elite Soldier. Your items will still be there and you can repeat this many times and avoid the hard work of trying to gain items in chocobo world. This way you can get many rare items and update your gunblade faster and junction with rare magic such as ultima. Hint: ----- Submitted by: minhduy512 In 1st disk, after defeat the boss on the communication tower, u'll be given 30 mins to run to the beach. But on the way there, u'll encounter a robot spider (i don't know it real name). This is a great chance to increase your GF's AP. This is the tip for u to get the AP. Firstly, remember to set your GF before going down the tower. When you encounter the spider, attack it until it is down, then attack it until it stand up (if you wait for it to stand up, you won't get any AP), and knock it down again, then run. every time you do it, you 'll get 50 AP. For 30 mins you can knock it 6-7 times, means 300-350 AP (such a lot huh?). Hidden song: ------------ Place the game disc in an audio CD player and play track two to hear the song "Eyes On Me" by Faye Wong. More HP: -------- Have magic Full-Life, learn GF HP-j and HP +80%. Equip Full-Life on HP Magic and have Ability HP +80% equipped. You will have all the information, and still have your money. 9999 Health: ------------ Get to level 43 or higher and draw or refine an item into 100 Curaga. Do not level up. Instead Junction 100 Curaga to HP. If you are not at 9999 HP, put on HP +20%, HP +40%, or HP +80 %. Lunch Lady's kid: ----------------- if you talked to the Lunch Lady to the left in the Garden, she will tell you about her son and how he went out on his own. You can actually meet him after the Boss Battle in FH (with BGH251F2). In this part of the game, you will be left alone. Meet up with Irvine at the top of the elevator, then go back the area where you just fought the Boss and talk to the teenager in yellow. Do not e-mail us with death threats if you mistakenly alter your FAT. You must have ChocoboWorld in order for this to work. What do you do is play a bunch to get a lot of items on ChocoboWorld. Then instead of transfering the items immediately to your party, save and quit the game and make a copy of chocorpg.* in the \...\Program Files\SquareSoft Inc\Final Fantasy VIII\Save directory. Copy the chocorpg.*, rename it, and place it somewhere else in your directory. When you load FFVIII and transfer all the items to your game, make sure the Chibocobo goes back into the Chocobo world and is not with your party. Save and quit the game again. Copy the chocorpg.* copy, rename it into chocorpg (you may have to delete the original file before Windows allows you to do such a renaming) so you can reap the beneifits of one play of the ChocoboWorld. Dollet: Secret location: ------------------------ In Dollet, play the pub owner in a card game. He is an easy opponent. When you defeat him, you get to go to his "secret place". When you go there, he will give you some cards for you to protect his reputation by not telling the old man about all of his losses, There are also magazine clips on the floor. Try to get his Siren card from him. No random battles: ------------------ Use the following methods to never have any random battle outside of towns: rent a car for 3,500 gil, walk on train tracks, walk on paved roads, or get Diablos' No Encounter ability. Riona: Invincible Moon limit break: ----------------------------------- Find he Pet Pals magazine with the Invincible Moon on it. Then click on it at Riona's status screen. Leave it there and do not learn any more tricks. If you did not learn any tricks before that, every time you use Riona's Limit Break it will be Invincible Moon instead of something less useful such as Angelo Cannon. Regaining modded cards: ----------------------- Refine the rare cards desired, but not all of them. Defeat the Card Club Group before time compression occurs (when you fight the fake Sorceresses). Get the Ragnarok on Disc 4. Re-challenge all of the Card Club members. If you are lucky, your card will re-appear in somebody's hand in the group. Note: This may not work with the character cards or level 9 GF cards. How to get The End spell with selphie: -------------------------------------- First Have 2 of your characters dead lol then use aura on selphie with selphie, then keep doing over but first open then lid of the ps1 and put the cd out you might notice no one can move exept you slots you can do over as much times until you get The end. Defeating Diablos: ------------------ * Early in the game, just before you get Zell and go to the second exam after Ifrit, when playing only as Squall, go to the training center. You will level up quickly. Defeating Diablos later will be easy. The exam will also be easier. * Have all your party members draw Demi from him, stock it, then cast it on him on their next turn. Every time you do so, he will counter with Curaga thus curing them on each turn. Easy battles: ------------- * To defeat enemies easily, learn the ability Revive with Alexander and junction 100 Zombie to Status Atk on any player. During a battle, attack until the enemy has Zombie status, and then use Revive to automatically kill it. * Put Squall together with two characters that you do not prefer. Then, take all three to the Islands of Heaven or Hell and level them up to 100. Then, put Squall in a party with two low level people that you do prefer. From now on monsters should be at about half Squall's level and easy for him to kill with one or two hits. * Have some Auras, and use Quistis' Degenerator limit break. The monster will just get sucked in and die. To defeat bosses such as Bahamut or Omega Weapon, use Zell and keep doing the "Booya" or the other easy Limit Break. If you get 10 or 12 seconds and do this quick enough, you can take off 850,000 HP. Zell's Limit Breaks are actually stronger than the Lionheart if you are quick enough. Chocobo World item duplication trick/glitch (PC Steam version): --------------------------------------------------------------- 1.Start Chocobo World and let it run until you are happy with amount of items you have. 2.Go to User\My Documents\Square Enix\Final Fantasy VIII Steam (default save location) and copy the file chocorpg.ff8 to Desktop or anywhere you want. (disabling Steam Cloud sync for FF8 is recommended) 3.Now you load the game and import the items from Chocobo World and send him back (this will reset Chocobo World items) 4.Alt+Tab out of the game and copy the backup chocorpg.ff8 that you made into save file location, overwritting the file when asked. 5.Alt+Tab back into the game and you can import all the items again. Info: Repeating steps 3-5 you can hoard untold amount of rare items. |
