| 1. backup your saves 2. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the save directory you wish to edit (data\saves\slotZZZ). Now open a command prompt box, browse to the UFO ET directory, and run the command "ProjectX.exe saveEditor.xscr unpack slotZZZ" (replace ZZZ with the number of the savegame you want to edit) The game will open but WILL NOT START. Alt tab back to Windows Explorer until 3 or 4 new files appear, then back to the game and ESC key to close the game. 3. open globeSave.xsv, or mission.xsv, or basesav.xsv if you want to edit your base inventory. 4. search for "units" then by soldier name. you can change MAXimum or ACTual values for any stat (eg "shootingMAX" "VitalityACT", etc) or character Experience, Rank, Action points, Hit Points, Wounds, etc. (It's a good idea to change ALL MAX stats to 100 and do the same for all stats on all soldiers) 4a. For those impossible tactical missions you keep dieing on, it's possible to revive soldiers (give back HP and remove Wounds), and kill enemies as well (HP 0), though you won't get any UFO parts if you kill ALL the enemies by editing. (ie leave at least ONE with a few hp that you must find and kill or you get NOTHING for the mission) 5. Rename the old "game.sav" file (Gsme.sav1 works well) and run the command "ProjectX.exe saveEditor.xscr pack slotZZZ" from your UFO ET dir (replace ZZZ with the number of the savegame you want to edit) |
