GDI Cheat Mod by Csimbi ======================= First, I have to make this clear: THIS IS A CHEAT MOD!!! On purpose, not accidentally. You've been warned. If you don't like cheating, don't use it - it's that simple. The mod requires C&C3 v1.09. The archive contains only two files, the mod itself and the definition file. You need to put these two in the appropriate place and you are ready to go (though creating a direct link to the mod on the desktop will make your life a lot easier). 1. Extract the mod from the archive to the %USERPROFILE% directory. The whole path to the two files will look something like this: C:\PROFILES\Cs\My Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\MODS\CsimbiGDI\CsimbiGDI.big C:\PROFILES\Cs\My Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\MODS\CsimbiGDI\CsimbiGDI_1.0.SkuDef 2. Create a shortcut on the desktop to CNC3.EXE and add this after the .EXE: -modConfig "%USERPROFILE%\Cs\My Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\MODS\CsimbiGDI\CsimbiGDI_1.0.SkuDef" It should look like this: D:\CC3\CNC3.exe -modConfig "%USERPROFILE%\My Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\MODS\CsimbiGDI\CsimbiGDI_1.0.SkuDef" 3. Click the shortcut and play. NOTE: Those units that you get in the beginning of the missing might be messed up. GDI Cheat Mod by Csimbi - source ================================ These files are based on the MOD SDK 5.0 and C&C3 1.09. 1. Install the MOD SDK (properly!!! - meaning that you will need to add the missing files). 2. Extact the archive into the MOD SDK directory. 3. Use B.BAT to build it. Famous last words: - I used XP SP2 without any problems. Some people have hard time using the MOD SDK on Vista. Therefore, I suggest you stay the fuck away from that crap. - There are some bugs in the MOD SDK. - I have updated the BuildMod.bat to force wiping out old crap before the compilation takes place (it helps with some problems). - I added some notes to the Mod.xml and GDI\GDIConstants.xml files - I suggest you read them. Dear EA, I understand your good intensions with compiling the mods to prevent reverse-engineering, but: as you can see, there are not much mods out there because it is pretty complicated to make one. The documentation is nice, but unfortunately it seems that the most important details are usually missing. Also, it would be nice if it was possible to scale time values, too (like value="=5s*$MY_TIME_SCALE") - currently it generates an error. I would appreciate any improvements in these areas in the near future, thanks. |
